Government

The Government has the ability to guide, direct, or influence the direction a country moves. For example, the head of a country or organization always need good leadership to function effectively. All nations depend on their leaders for guidance. In (Romans 13:1) it reads, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
No one can have authority unless God allowed it to be.
It has been said, the “people” have the power to make changes. However, throughout generations, it is commonplace for people to appoint their leaders.
How can the people have the power, if the country is not governed in a correct manor?
And how can the leaders govern in a correct manor if they are not grounded by the appropriate principles?
And how can such principles be displayed by leaders if the people don’t pray?
And if the people don’t pray, what happens to the country? Is this not a very good question? This is why the people were instructed (2 Chronicles 7:14) “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”
Leaders should be grounded with a set of principles intended to compromise any matter, like decision making. Principles are the basics for which the Government should work, like an ingredient that just makes some meals more excellent than the meal without it. Once again, how can these principles be accessible without a collective prayer?
And without prayer, how long can a “people” survive? (Proverbs 11:14) “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
Reminder: praying for the Government is the same as praying for the country, because it’s the Government that directs the country. The country is the people, so when you pray for the Government you are actually praying for yourself.
I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
“He (God) builds up nations, and he destroys them. He expands nations, and he abandons them” (Job 12:23)
When effective prayer goes forth, God moves. For when God moves, the Government takes action. When the Government takes action, the country is blessed. When the country is blessed, the people rejoice, because the country is the people. And when the people rejoice, God is pleased, this is the ultimate goal.
